Why Is The Mainstream Upset About Time's Pick?

I am wondering why the mainstearm media is getting so upset about the pick for "Person of the Year".

I note that most things I have read, including articles from the Wall Street Journal, and listening to the network news, the "real" journalists say Bloggers aren't professionals and have nothing important to say. Now considering that this is their opinion of Bloggers in general I have to wonder just exactly what they are frightened of. Because in my experience no one goes that defensive unless they are spooked about something.

In my considered opinion some in the MSM have found that there is much worth while reading in many blogs. And some of the commentary is as well worded and timely as what we might hear on MSNBC or CNN.

Some blogs are very personal tomes. If those writing them wish this to be their subject more power to them. It is a totally personal choice of what one wishes project on their blog. To call them bad or stupid is just not right. It's free speech you buttheads. The same free speech as is given to the big network news departments. In case any of you big time news people read this I will remind you it has something to do with the first ammendment. Just in case you forgot.

Some blogs are dedicated to political and social commentary. I have read many of these and I find the insight on many of them to be superior to many of the lead anchors on some of the major networks.

I think this is what has some in the MSM spooked. They are finding the people they have been treating as inferior because they aren't in the same social circle or professional circle actually have a brain cell or two. Many of those people are using those very brain cells to make the commentary that the MSM shys away from for various reasons. The main one being, dare I say it, political.

Since I have only recently started using this wonderful medium I am not so much an expert but a novice. However I will say I have seen the effect that blogging has had on the political landscape and the media landscape. No matter how hard they try to disrespect and deny that Bloggers have an effect, the defensive reaction from the MSM tells the story. I think it woke a few people up. Like most individuals rooted in stone-aged tradition they may be doing too little too late. It seems they consider themselves the only one annointed to disseminate the news. They could be wrong about that, badly wrong.

Brains at Last?

It looks like the Pahrump Town Board finally got some brains. Or at least maybe a clue. The two ignorant trolls, Miraliga and Metro, got shot down with their racist pile of crap in tow. I note that Metro when confronted with failure ran away with his tail tucked....or so it seems. I note also some of the other "white faces" went along. According to the report I read.
If these people are so upstanding and right about this issue why did they leave? Is it because they know they were treading on thin ice? I think this is indeed the case.
The immigration issue has allowed people like Miraglia and Metro to spew racist trash without fear of being called "racist". The thing they did not think about was many of the people they are railing against are in fact United States citizens. It seems much of the agenda here was to impinge and accuse all people of Mexican heritage of being somehow criminal. It looks like they got a wake up call. It was about damned time.
I'm going to say this without reservation. I have lived in Pahrump for a long time and I have patronized every Mexican eatery in town. I shop at the Carniceria too. I grew up with this culture and it is not alien to me. If some people find it so then maybe they should find someplace else to call home. IE: if you want to be an ignorant racist go some place else and let us live in peace. I for one don't want to hear the crap that you spew from you ignorant blow hole.

I should have prefaced this blog entry with a disclaimer. My head gets full of this stuff and I need to let it out. If you like it let me know...even if you don't let me know.
I just get fed to the nuts with the stupidity and lying that our "officials" feed us.

I'm Tired Of The Poop

I have been reading and listening to the news today. I see our fearless leader Bush wants to insert more troops into Iraq.



It seems the Iraqis have said they want to move our troops out. Why should we do this foolish thing? I have watched this develop and fail over the last three and a half years. The war in Iraq is a total failure and cannot end in "Victory" as bush wishes to claim.



Our President is self-deluded and has visions of granduer that will not come to pass. His loss is our loss as well. Every person in this country will suffer the repercussions of this, Bush's stupidity.



It is time to end this stupidity and bring our people home. To those wing nuts that still support Bush I say you are full of what I am tired of..poop.



I could get into the religious implications of this particular parternership, Bush and fundies, but I'll leave that alone for now. Suffice it to say that the insinuation of fundamental religion into our government has resulted in the fucking mess we have now.



All because we have a little boy named George, who never learned to say he made a mistake. And he claims god told him this. The man is a total bag of Bullshit.



I'm damned tired of seeing the people, the loyal soldiers, sailors, marines and air force personel used to attempt to make a worthless clown look like he has actually done something great.
I call bullshit on this one. Lies and deception are the norm.
When will we, as a people, call a halt to this stupidity?
